Q. How do I choose which service to book?

Gel Polish Manicures are the most similar to a regular polish manicure using a base coat, colour coats and a top coat. These are best for short to medium length nails of a regular thickness and nail bed shape.

Builder Gel Manicures are similar to Gel Polish Manicures, except a layer of clear builder gel is added before the top coat is applied. These are good for medium to long length nails, thinner nails, or those who are hardier on their hands.

Structured BIAB Manicures use layers of Builder In A Bottle gel to create a natural looking apex/curve, providing strength to thin, brittle or concave shaped nails. These are great for those who struggle to grow their nails or are very hardy on their hands and come in various nude shades, or can be finished with a colour polish.

Q. How long will my manicure last?

Gel Polish Manicures should last around 3 weeks and Builder Gel Manicures around 4 weeks depending on how fast your nails grow, your lifestyle and how well you’re able to follow the aftercare recommendations.

Structured BIAB Manicures will last for 3–4 weeks before a rebalance or removal is required as the more the nail grows, the more pressure is put on the unstructured end of the natural nail, so rebalancing is very important to avoid breakages.

Manicure longevity will always depend on whether your nails are naturally oily or dry, how active you are with your hands or if you have them submersed in water or chemicals a lot - all of which contribute to a shorter wear time.

We can discuss your nail goals during your appointment to help you choose the best option for your lifestyle.

Q. Which nail types are these services suitable for?

Unless you have a diagnosed allergy, there really is an option for everyone and bad prior Gel Manicure experiences are nearly always due to a lack of technician training, rather than the products themselves.

At done by Doni we want your manicure to look beautiful for as long as possible but your nail health is our ultimate focus, which is why we emphasise aftercare recommendations and follow rigorous health and safety processes.

Q. What are your health and safety processes?

All tools are thoroughly sterilised and disinfected between services.

Brand new nail files and buffers are selected for your service, then sanitised and stored in a sterilisation pouch until your next visit.

All surfaces, cure lamps and arm rests are disinfected between every client.

To ensure the best results and protect your nail health, we do not remove or work over product from other manicure studios.

We hold an Auckland Council Health Protection Licence which is displayed in the studio, and diligently adhere to the Manicure & Pedicure Code of Practice.

Your health, safety, and comfort are our top priority.
